Hardware Ordering Process

Overview

This article explains the process for employees to request and order company-approved hardware such as laptops, monitors, keyboards, and other peripherals. Please follow the steps below to ensure your hardware request is processed quickly and accurately.

  • Keyboards and mice
  • Docking stations
  • Headsets and webcams
  • Mobile devices (smartphones, tablets)
  • Specialty or department-specific equipment

How to Submit a Hardware Request

Step 1: Review Hardware Needs

  • Confirm that the hardware you need is approved for your role or department.
  • Consult your manager if unsure whether the equipment is allowed.

Step 2: Complete the Hardware Order Request Form

  • Fill out the Hardware Order Request Form with accurate details including device type, model/specifications, and justification for the purchase.
  • Include your full name, department, and contact information.

Step 3: Obtain Manager Approval

  • Submit the completed form to your manager for review and approval.
  • Manager must sign or otherwise approve the request before IT can process it.

Step 4: Submit to IT Department


What Happens Next?

  • The IT team will review the request for eligibility and availability.
  • You will receive an email confirmation once the order is approved and processed.
  • Typical fulfillment time is [X] business days; urgent orders may be prioritized.
  • IT will notify you when your hardware is ready for pickup or delivery.

Important Notes

  • Hardware issued remains company property and must comply with company usage policies.
  • Employees are responsible for the safekeeping and security of any assigned equipment.

  • Hardware upgrades and replacements also require manager approval and an IT request.
